The Challenge

SyncCar, a two-sided ridesharing and vehicle rental marketplace, faced several limitations preventing data-informed decisions. Their Amplitude setup lacked structure and alignment to product goals, with no clear visibility into key conversion and engagement metrics for Guests or Hosts. Event consistency across frontend and backend was lacking, internal resources for designing and validating a scalable tracking plan were limited, and data use cases were unclear with scattered reporting efforts. These issues prevented the team from understanding user behavior, prioritizing product development, and monitoring marketplace performance effectively.

What We Did

Audit and KPI Alignment: Audited the existing Amplitude configuration and defined baseline and growth KPIs for both Guests and Hosts.

User Journey Mapping and Tracking Plan: Documented detailed user journeys for both segments with a comprehensive tracking plan including frontend and backend events and user properties.

Implementation Support: Worked with the engineering team to clarify use cases, map events to CTAs and flows, and guide integration with manual and Amplitude-based event validation.

Event Configuration and Data QA: Fine-tuned event taxonomy, validated implementations, and resolved data issues.

Use Case Definition and Dashboarding: Converted business questions into actionable charts and dashboards including Guest Conversion, Host Conversion, Trips and Cars Details, and Traffic Source Analysis.

The Results

SyncCar achieved a 100% Amplitude Data Quality Score with a completely rebuilt analytics infrastructure tailored to their two-sided marketplace. The team gained full visibility into core product metrics across guest and host conversion, trip and vehicle data, and traffic sources.
